What is EPOX-Z?

EPOX-Z is the next generation coating that is more durable and costs 47% less than all other protective coating systems in industrial coating applications.  Our product is being mandated by states due to the migration to energy efficient “Cool Roof Coatings” and meets ASTM D 5894 standards.  To be effective a coating must act as a barrier to prevent chemicals and moisture from reaching the surface.  EPOX-Z is a new generation of high performance, single coat, solvent free epoxy coating.  EPOX-Z’s products are based upon unique polymer chemistry.

The term epoxy refers to a chemical group consisting of an oxygen atom bonded with at least two carbon atoms. It is also known as epoxide or oxirane. The chemical names for epoxy include:

• Ethelene oxcide (epoxy ethane),
• Trimethylene oxcide (oxetane),
• Tetrahydrofuran,
• Cyclohexene oxcide,
• Epichorohydrin,
• Glycidic acid
• and Glycidol.

A single coat of EPOX-Z replaces multiple coat systems. EPOX-Z may be applied by brush, roller, or airless sprayer.  EPOX-Z is virtually odor less and contains no VOC’s or other hazardous chemicals. A single coat of EPOX-Z is 47% less costly than other protective coating systems and can speed up the finishing process of any construction project  EPOX-Z has been tested to the stringent ASTM D5894 standard.
